Facebook Sports Stadium is a Virtual Fan Zone
When Facebook unveiled Sports Stadium in January (just in time for the NFL Conference Championships and the Super Bowl), it was only available to U.S.-based iPhone users. It’s expanding to embrace more platforms, more places and more sports. The ultimate game plan is to roll it out globally, so that, eventually, all Canadian athletes and their fans will be able to get in the game. Notable: the “Experts” navigation tab, which connects users to real-time game commentary from verified Facebook Pages, is a potentially powerful portal to engage fans and build excitement before they even arrive at the fan zone. —Sarah B.
