Martin Richard, Executive Director, Communications and Brand, Canadian Paralympic Committee

Three of the leading sport communications professionals in Canada will share their experiences from a variety of challenges that provide lessons learned for the sport event/tourism industry.

Sylvie Bigras, in addition to being a dynamic emcee and facilitator, is a specialist in communications at international sporting events, including leading an entire media relations/communications team at several Olympic, Commonwealth, and Pan American Games.

Martin Richard is the Executive Director, Communications & Brand at the Canadian Paralympic Committee. Also a veteran of multiple major Games, he most recently was integral to the communication of the CPC’s decision, in conjunction with the Canadian Olympic Committee, to not send the Canadian team to the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games as a result of COVID-19.

Each panelist will share the practical application of effective communications throughout a crisis, and the positive opportunities that may occur as a result.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email outlining the information needed to join the meeting.

CSTA's un[GOLF] FOREum

The 4th edition of [un] GOLF / Sport Tourism FORE-um (originally scheduled for November 2020) is now officially on the calendar for Thursday, November 18, 2021 in Ottawa.

In case you’ve FOREgotten, this fun and educational golf-inspired event is where Canada’s sport tourism community comes to exchange ideas and knowledge and face-off in friendly competition.

All of the sociable golf-themed activities, learning, and B2B networking with your sport tourism colleagues from destinations across Canada, sport organizations, venues, hoteliers, educational institutions and other sport event professionals will definitely be back on in 2021.

As always, we’ll provide the ‘golf’ equipment and the sport tourism subject matter experts and you provide a willingness to share your own knowledge about sport tourism and learn from others, while embracing our love of lame golf jokes as you play through our indoor (faux) golf course.

For more info on this event, watch our website.
