As official host cities, Toronto and Vancouver will showcase Canadian culture, world-class venues and a deep passion for the beautiful game.

In 2026, the world’s biggest single-sport championship lasts for only 39 days, but Vancouver and Toronto have been planning since 2022 and expect to reap the benefits for years to come.
“On average, people who visit BC return five times in their lifetime,” says FIFA World Cup 26 Vancouver host committee lead Jessie Adcock, who notes that hosting the event will generate an estimated $1 billion in additional visitor spending across British Columbia between 2026 and 2031.
Toronto’s planning is based on key pillars like infrastructure, community activation and economic impact “to ensure long-lasting benefits for Toronto residents and businesses well beyond the final whistle,” says Sharon Bollenbach, executive director of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Toronto Secretariat
