SEC – The same, but different

SPORT TOURISM CANADA We have successfully sorted out a new hosting rotation schedule for Sport Events Congress (SEC) 2021-2024!

This is thanks to our loyal destination hosting partners – Ottawa Tourism, Richmond Sport Hosting, Edmonton Events, and Tourism Winnipeg and their respective venue partners, including the Edmonton Convention Centre, the RBC Convention Centre (Winnipeg) and many Marriott properties in all four cities.

Moving forward, SEC is going to look a little different. You can expect the same exceptional educational opportunities and the fun factor, along with strategic networking and B2B activities. However, there will also be some changes.

Our priority post-pandemic will be to keep our event attendees SAFE. With this in mind, here are some of the new measures our events team is exploring:Enhanced hygiene and cleaning measures onsiteMedical services Clear evacuation protocolsMore text message communication between organizers and delegates (thanks to our partner at SMSNet)Adaptive meeting & networking spaces to allow for physical distancingA hybrid offering consisting of both face-to-face in-person attendance and virtual participationOur priorities are offering valuable content, keeping people safe, doing what is reasonable, and delivering our message. We are confident we can meet all of these objectives while still providing the upbeat and fun ambiance for which SEC is known.

We are excited to reinvent SEC and are extremely grateful to our sponsor partners and exhibitors- most of whom rolled over their participation to future events following the cancelation of SEC20 in March. It is their loyalty and financial commitment to the sport tourism industry that positions Sport Tourism Canada to be able to continue to host Sport Events Congress.

Stay tuned for more info over the summer. The new SEC – same, but different.
