January 28, 2021 (Ottawa, ON) It may be going virtual this year, but the 2021 version of Sport Events Congress (#SEC21) will maintain many of the same engaging experiences of the traditional in-person event and more!
This is the 20th year for the gathering of all sectors of the sport tourism industry at Sport Events Congress. This event is planned and organized by Sport Tourism Canada with the support of Ottawa Tourism, host and destination partner. It will feature an anchor desk based in the broadcast centre at The Westin Hotel in Ottawa on April 7-8-9, 2021. The dynamic duo of Sylvie Bigras and Greg Amiel will share the hosting duties.
The schedule features live and pre-recorded on-demand content. The line-up of speakers features internationally recognized members of the sport tourism industry alongside respected Canadians. Many of the sessions will focus on the recovery and re-invention of the sport tourism industry in a post-COVID world. An international panel will discuss Now What? The Future of Sport Hosting Post-COVID. Other presentations will focus on Bouncing Back – The Sport Tourism Recovery in Canada, Guaranteeing Success in 2021 and Beyond, and Preparing for a Sport Hosting and Economic Reboot. Another session will focus on Small Town …Big Stage – looking at the impact of events in smaller communities while another will bring the Esports landscape to life during Esports Tourism on the Rise.
The SEC21 (Virtual Edition) will be hosted on a robust and interactive event technology platform offering an engaging virtual experience. It will include live and pre-recorded on demand content that incorporates two-way interactions between delegates. The third day is dedicated to the Sport Events Exchange (AKA speed dating) – where the rights holders of sport events and destinations book appointments to see if their event hosting needs are a perfect match!
Sport Tourism Canada promises to entertain (and surprise and delight) online attendees with the same lively and fun ambiance that in-person delegates are accustomed to experiencing at Sport Events Congress. Time zones across Canada will be factored in so that no one misses out!
Digital passes, available starting at $130 CAD, include both live and on-demand content, access to Virtual Vendor Alley, online networking tools, an electronic copy of the delegate list, sweatworking, speed dating, and all the fun ambiance combined with the renowned SEC professional development and B2B activities.
BONUS: The first 350 Canadian registrants will receive a gift box mailed directly to their home or office!
