COVID-19 may have sidelined last year’s Grey Cup, but the city of Hamilton, Ont., is coming back in true ‘Hammer’ fashion as it prepares to host the championship on December 12, 2021. While pandemic restrictions mean Grey Cup Week festivities are scaled back, game day at Tim Hortons Field will be full capacity. The focus this year “is not about how many people we can fit in the stadium, but on the experience we can create and deliver for the fans that are at the game,” says Tiger-Cats CEO, Scott Mitchell. Next year, Regina will host the event, then it’s back to Hamilton again in 2023 for a full blowout.
