Up for Bid: Play On! Canada 2018 National Street Hockey Championships

Play On! Canada is extending the opportunity for Canadian municipalities to bid on the rights to host the Play On! 2018 National Street Hockey Championships, known as the Redwood Cup. Celebrating its 15th anniversary season since the inception of the program, this is a premier destination event expected to attract tourism from across our nation and generating national exposure for the host community.

Deadline for potential bidding communities to send their Letter of Interest to Play On! Canada is October 20, 2017.

Play On! is Canada’s largest annual participatory sports festival. It holds the Guinness World Record as the world’s largest street hockey tournament. In its largest season (2014), it operated events in twenty-two communities, attracting over 6,000 teams, 42,000 participants and an estimated 300,000 spectators. It has an active database of nearly 100,000 participants.
