New collaboration provides streamlined access to events, career opportunities, research, tools and resources
[OTTAWA, ON, October 14, 2026] – Sport Tourism Canada (STC) and the Sport Information Resource Centre (SIRC) are pleased to announce a new partnership designed to make valuable sport sector information and resources more accessible to Canada’s sport tourism community.
Through this partnership, STC members and website visitors can now quickly access a curated collection of SIRC events, job postings and public resources directly through the Sport Tourism Canada website.
The new resource hub brings together upcoming industry events, career opportunities, research, tools and other resources designed to support professionals and organizations working across Canada’s sport and sport tourism sectors.
“Sport tourism is strengthened when our industry has access to timely information, professional development opportunities and quality resources,” said Sheena McCrate, CEO of Sport Tourism Canada. “Our partnership with SIRC makes it easier for our members and the broader sport tourism community to discover resources that can support their organizations, their people and the work they do.”
SIRC serves Canada’s sport community by connecting organizations and professionals with knowledge, research, professional development opportunities and sector information. The partnership extends the reach of these resources while providing STC members with a convenient way to stay connected to developments across the Canadian sport system.
“At SIRC, our job is to help people across the sport system find the information they need, make sense of it and put it to work. This partnership with Sport Tourism Canada means those resources are now easier to find for professionals and organizations building sport tourism right across the country and that’s the kind of connection we’re always looking to make,” said Kim Gurtler, SIRC.
The collaboration reflects the shared commitment of Sport Tourism Canada and SIRC to strengthening connections, knowledge sharing and capacity across Canada’s sport sector.
The new Events, Careers & Public Resources hub is now available on the Sport Tourism Canada website.
