Tourisme Montréal launches new signature for its meeting and sports sectors

Tourisme Montréal is introducing two new visual identities to help the destination stand out in the eyes of meeting and sports event planners: “Business Meetings Montréal” and “Sports Events Montréal”.

Combined with the existing “Montréal Works for You” signature, this positioning will be used to promote the destination in the highly competitive international business travel market.

“Even though Montréal faces tough competition, we feel confident knowing that our organization has so much to offer, including a cohesive team, a collaborative ecosystem and quality services. Montréal is an accessible city where it is easy to do business. Delegates always come away with good things to say about our destination,” said Yves Lalumière, President and CEO of Tourisme Montréal.

“With the new signature, we’re asserting Montréal’s commitment to going above and beyond the needs of meeting planners and sports event organizers. Tourisme Montréal and its partners across the city are using a united voice to position Montréal on the world stage as a sought-after destination for meetings, conventions and sports events,” added Mylène Gagnon, Vice-President, Sales and Convention Services at Tourisme Montréal.

In 2018, tourism spending in Montréal reached approximately $4.5 billion. Meetings and conventions accounted for around 21% of this spending and generated substantial economic spin-offs. In fact, delegates typically spend $400 per day during their stay in the city, injecting additional money into the tourism ecosystem.
