Nova Scotia Invests $10M

Nova Scotia is investing $10.1 million to improve sport and recreation infrastructure in the province. Of the total, the Banook Canoe Club receives $3 million to improve its facilities, including making them more accessible. Lake Banook is the site of the 2022 ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships, August 3–7, as well as the 2023 North American Indigenous Games. The Canoe ’22 Society receives $1.5 million to upgrade the finish line tower at Lake Banook, Sport Nova Scotia receives $5 million to continue inclusivity and accessibility initiatives and the Springfield Lake Recreation Centre receives $635,000 to upgrade their baseball field.
