When your heart needs a host venue, Canada’s heart is calling
When it comes to hosting tournaments or events, Manitoba has many amazing small and mid-size options including cities like Brandon, Portage la Prairie, Dauphin or Thompson.
It’s more than a slogan on our licence plate, Manitoba truly is a friendly province with great fans, dedicated volunteers and excellent hospitality.
Brandon
From its bid on the 2025 Roar of the Rings Canadian Olympic Curling Trials to the outstanding success of the U15 Fastpitch Canadian Championships, Brandon knows how to bring amazing sporting events to life. Venues like the Keystone Centre or the Simplot Millennium Park Diamonds can host a variety of sports and tournaments and provide relative ease to major transportation. Brandon brings you back.
Portage la Prairie
Just an hour and a half from Winnipeg, Portage la Prairie boasts two NHL-sized hockey rinks at Stride Place and a winning track record as hosts of the CJHL Centennial Cup in 2023. Beyond the ice, Portage la Prairie is the 2024 Baseball Manitoba Provincial Championship and Qualifier host.
Dauphin
It’s adventure from here on out! As host of annual major events like the Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival and Dauphin’s Countryfest, this city loves to celebrate. The Parkland Recreation Complex and Credit Union Place make Dauphin a great choice for ice sports events while the nearby 26km Northgate Multi-Use Trail System is ready to host races and mountain biking (MTB) events.
Thompson
The north is calling! Thompson is one of the largest cities north of the 53rd parallel and has a history of hosting curling events such as the Manitoba qualifying tournament for the 2006 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and the Manitoba Credit Unions Master Men’s and Women’s Provincial Championship in 2023. We can’t wait to welcome you to SEC24 and surprise you with all that Manitoba has to offer. Whatever your heart needs, Canada’s heart is calling.
