New Track. New Stands. New Reasons to Host in Surrey.

Surrey, British Columbia, has recently added a major new asset to its growing roster of competition-ready sport facilities with the completion of the new stadium and track at Bear Creek Park.

Built for athletes, spectators and event organizers alike, the facility centres on a 400-metre track and field complex, complemented by a multi-use field capable of supporting both soccer and football. A new grandstand provides permanent seating for 2,200 spectators, with 80 percent under cover, creating a venue equally suited to competitive meets and field-based events.

The redevelopment also delivers the infrastructure organizers rely on behind the scenes. New changerooms and public washrooms sit beneath the grandstand, while upgraded plaza areas provide dedicated space for concessions and ticketing. The track itself has been upgraded in alignment with international sport standards.

Bear Creek adds another strong option to Surrey’s much larger network of sport facilities. The city is equipped to host events spanning soccer, softball, aquatics, ice sports, ultimate, para-sport and more, with venues capable of supporting regional, provincial and national competition.

That venue inventory is backed by Sport Surrey, the City of Surrey’s dedicated sport tourism team, offering support throughout the hosting process, from bid preparation and venue coordination to accommodations, transportation, event promotion and volunteer support.

There’s also a compelling financial case for putting Surrey on the shortlist: event organizers can tap into $500,000 in available annual Sport Tourism Grant funding, designed to support events that bring athletes, teams and visitors to the city.

Located in Metro Vancouver, Surrey offers visiting teams and spectators much more beyond competition. Diverse neighbourhoods, a dining scene worth exploring, and easy access to the wider region turn an event weekend into a broader destination experience.

With new investment at Bear Creek Park adding to an already diverse venue portfolio, Surrey is building the capacity to welcome more events and giving organizers more options for finding the right fit.
